    This was always going to happen. I glad that they have taken a sensible step rather than going after a wider range of gear. My worry was that the side effect of this was going to nail our sport. I was relived when I saw the news article.

    I guess the way to look at this was the air guns they are talking about are so like firearms in terms of the damage they do they should already have been classed as firearms. What I'm happy about is the law is aimed at what the gun can do in terms of damage NOT how it looks etc.

    when in wellington over the holidays i sat in the beehive as they discussed it. it was more the airguns that are only designed to fire metal pallets and anything over the 500fps mark that would be governed under the new amendments not mentioning airsoft guns from what i could make out

    To be honest, I dont know why they didn't just add the gun to the Governor Generals especially dangerous airgun list months ago, no need for a law change then.

    its because that list is reserved for especially dangerous Full-Auto gun only, like AEG's LOL
